My first thought was that this was most likely a starter issue. I drove it to school and when i came back out a few hours later it wouldn't start.

In fact, since a worn battery seldom dies to absolutely nothing, clicking is the most typical symptom of a battery that is no longer up to starting the car.

Honda pilot won t start rapid clicking noise. Clicking is a sign the battery can power the starter relay, but it may not have the power to turn over the engine. I also try jump starter to start the car, but same result. Again, this symptom (multiple and rapid clicking sounds and the engine won’t turn over or start) can be caused by a weak battery or loose battery terminals.

I thought, it could be a battery problem. Honda pilot won t start rapid clicking noise. This is not the sound of a broken starter.

I feel like the clicking noise comes from under the dashboard, but i'm not certain. I've a 2007 honda civic. Everything electrical came on in the car (radio, lights, instrument panel, etc.), but the the engine wouldn't turn over.

All that i got was a very loud, rapid clicking noise. Check the battery, terminals, and cables. The radio and everything work fine, but when i try to turn on the engine it makes clicking noise.

The headlight also works fine. But, engine ticking or clicking is not one of them.
