Subaru Won't Start Brake Pedal Hard

I'm sitting in my car (nissan versa, automatic) and it won't.

Subaru won't start brake pedal hard. Doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason when this occurs although the stiff brake pedal occurs probably 95% of the time. Push the start button and car stumbles, but starts. Once the engine is running again, your brakes will be fine.

If your car is not starting, check to see if. Subaru won't start brake pedal hard. It’s easy to verify if the brake light switch is the problem because if you get someone to check your brake lights while you press the pedal, they won’t work.

From my research in other threads, a hard brake seems like a booster/vacuum/hose issue, but i didn't see anything about trouble shifting out of park. Mine was grey with a brown section, the new one is blue and brown. Now i can't get shift out of park, and i can't start it.
